80% of US adults use social media, that fact is a business opportunity we cannot miss. We increase brand awareness and loyalty through our social channels, we gain valuable customer insights with every interaction, we provide a richer customer experience and increase our website traffic and search ranking. But most importantly, we build relationships with our customers, associates, vendor partners and peers.
Kenseal and Harris have been maintaining a strong social media presences for a while now, but recently we got HarMac on board as well. We are most active on the 3 big networks, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. Harris and Kenseal are also on Twitter and YouTube. We want to be where our customers are and be top of mind for construction products and supplies. We use social media to promote our businesses, our people and locations, but also for customer service queries and talent acquisition. Our followers learn about our projects, sales initiatives, career opportunities, events and news on social media first.
But wait, there’s more! As of January 2017, all Harris & Kenseal branches have their own Facebook page. This is adding new levels of local marketing opportunities for each branch. It also helps tremendously with being discovered as a ‘supplier nearby’. And since all pages include branch phone numbers and driving directions, it has never been easier for customers/prospects to contact us. We are looking for anyone who would be interested in helping to run those individual pages. By default, all branch pages will display content from our main brand pages, but some of you already give your local branch a much more customized look and feel.
And if you thought social media had no impact on purchase intent – think again. A recent study revealed that 42% of adults bought an item after seeing it on social media. We have had quote requests, product feedback and sales from social media. We also have customers who tag us in their posts, which helps us getting more exposure (free marketing, yay!).
If you do not follow us on your favorite social media channel yet, you are missing out. Like, comment and share our content and you can easily help us reach more people. Take our company promo video for example. Thanks to your shares, likes and comments, we already reached 22k people on Facebook alone. The video, which was uploaded just after the summit, was viewed close to 10k times by the time you read this.
