For 100 years, A.H. Harris as been supported by our surrounding communities and we did everything possible to do the same. This year we are thrilled to announce our truck supporting autism awareness. The truck is wrapped in puzzle pieces to support Autism Speaks, an autism advocacy organization in the United States that sponsors autism research and conducts awareness and outreach activities aimed at families, governments, and the public. An astounding 1 in every 68 U.S. children are born with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The driver of the Autism Awareness truck, Scott, has a personal connection with this organization and is very passionate about supporting their efforts. In attempts to help raise awareness, he came up with the amazing idea of having the Autism Awareness puzzle pieces printed on the truck. He highly enjoys bringing it to events such as Connecticut’s “Touch a Truck” event, and the cool design was even featured on Channel 8 WTNH. This truck has also been great in assisting with our Harris Cares initiative to take time to give back and volunteer to meaningful charities. Here at Harris, we take each opportunity to support the communities that have supported us for 100 years.
If you see the Autism Speaks truck on the road give Scott a nice wave!
