(by Strategy Intern Jack Harris)
The “Harris Mud Lions” will return to Zoar’s Pond for the third year in a row to participate in the 30th Annual Mud Volleyball Tournament, benefiting the Connecticut Epilepsy Foundation on August 20, 2016. Last year the event raised $65,500, on an exciting and fun day. The event has been going on since 1986, and has grown to include about 200 teams every year. This year, A.H. Harris will be donating fencing to the tournament, and in return, we have been made a sponsor of the event. Also, they will verbally mention A.H. Harris in their announcements at the tournament. Not only will we be donating fencing, but we will also be sending volunteers to help set up the event. This compliments our Harris Cares initiatives, and is reflective of our company’s desire to give back to the community.
This year, we have had more than double the competitors sign up than we did last year, which will allow us to field a second team. This influx of participation can partly be credited to the addition of Kenseal, as we have members from the Kenseal team sign up as well. Come game day, we will most certainly show everyone that even in the muddy waters of Zoar’s Pond, we are BETTER TOGETHER!! The registration deadline is August 5th, and we invite any and every one to either join us, or challenge us! Please contact Martin.Hennig@AHHarris.com if you are interested in playing with (or against) our team.
